Order of exchange - Order of exchange

Japanese: 交名注文 - きょうみょうちゅうもん

A style of ancient Japanese document. Also known simply as "koumei." A document that lists names; a list of names. A type of "chonjun." Unlike the Ritsuryo-style document styles of rekimei and rekimeicho (in which names were listed in order of rank or rank), there was no set rule for the arrangement of names, and the emphasis was on directing and determining the group of koumei themselves, rather than indicating the order. When koumei chonjun were not simply handed down as a mere copy, they were often sent alongside petition documents or letters, and the recipients were able to exercise, or were expected to exercise, authority such as specific directions, orders, and decisions over the people noted in them.

日本の古文書の一様式。単に〈交名〉ともいう。人名を書き連ねた文書，人名リスト。〈注文〉の一種である。律令制的な文書様式としての歴名，歴名帳(位階や﨟次の順に人名が列記された)と相違して，人名の配列に一定した原則はなく，順位を示すことより，交名人の集団自体を指示･確定することに重点があった。交名注文は，単なる手控えとして伝存したのでない場合は，多く上申文書や書状に副進されたが，その受領者は，注記された人々に対して特定の指揮，命令，裁決等の権限行使を行うことができ，またはそれを期待された。
