…Born in Nuremberg. In 1525, he was exiled along with G. Penz for his God-denying rhetoric. His elder brother Hans Sebald Beham (1500-50) settled in Frankfurt around 1531, while his younger brother Barthel B. (1502-40) became a court painter for Wilhelm IV in Munich, and was active in Italy from 1535 onwards.
