Tokubei, the son-in-law of a dyer in Mannen-cho, Osaka, had become acquainted with O-fusou, a prostitute employed by his family's tea house Shigeizutsuya. In order to secure money to save O-fusou from danger, he hatched a scheme to borrow silver using his foster home as collateral, but was touched by the faithfulness of his wife O-Tatsu, and revealed the truth and returned the silver. ...
