Red-tailed tropic bird

A seabird of the Tropicidae family, order Pelecaniformes, class Aves. It is medium-sized, about 91 cm long, and completely white. It breeds on tropical and subtropical islands in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. It feeds on fish and squid, and breeds in the Io Islands and other parts of Japan.

鳥綱ペリカン目ネッタイチョウ科の海鳥。全長約91センチメートルと中形で全身白色。太平洋とインド洋の熱帯、亜熱帯の島で繁殖する。魚やイカを食べ、日本では硫黄(いおう)列島などで繁殖する。
