A seabird of the Tropicidae family, order Pelecaniformes, class Aves. It is medium-sized, about 91 cm long, and completely white. It breeds on tropical and subtropical islands in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. It feeds on fish and squid, and breeds in the Io Islands and other parts of Japan.
