aurresku

...There are many other folk songs with beautiful melodies in Catalonia. The Basque region has a unique musical tradition, as it has a unique language, and in addition to lyrical folk songs, there are dances such as the graceful aurresku, the unusual 5-beat zortziko, and the sword dance espata-dantza. Although Spanish folk songs are traditionally sung solo, the popular choral movement that began in the 19th century has taken root in Catalonia and the Basque Country, and has now become a tradition in itself.
