Apparent solar day

...A general term for true solar days and mean solar days. The time interval between when the sun passes over the meridian at one point and when it passes over it again the next day is called a true solar day. Since a true solar day is a cycle of alternating day and night, it can be said to be the time interval most closely related to our lives.
