Japanese: トールン族(独竜族) - トールンぞく（英語表記）Dú lóng zú

One of China's minority groups. They mainly live in the Dulong River Valley in Gongshan Tolung and Nu Autonomous County in northwest Yunnan Province. Tolung is their self-proclaimed name. The population was about 5,800 (1990). Tolung belongs to the Tibeto-Burman family and is said to be close to the language of the Nu people who live in Gongshan. They have no written language, but communicate their intentions through wood carvings and knotted ropes. In Chinese historical documents, they appear under the names "Qui Ren" and "Qui Ren." The details of their history are unknown, but they are said to have been subordinate to the Nanzhao Kingdom during the Tang Dynasty and the Dali Kingdom during the Song Dynasty.

中国の少数民族の一つ。おもに雲南省北西部の貢山トールン族ヌー(怒)族自治県の独竜河谷に居住する。トールンは自称である。人口は約5800(1990)。トールン語はチベット･ビルマ語系に属し，貢山に居住するヌー族の言語に近いといわれる。文字は無く，木刻，結縄によってその意志を伝達したという。漢籍史料には〈俅人〉〈俅人〉等の名称であらわれる。その歴史について詳細は不明だが，唐代は南詔国に，宋代は大理国に服属していたといわれる。
