Japanese: 越佐史料 - えっさしりょう

A collection of chronological historical materials for the provinces of Echigo and Sado. Takahashi Yoshihiko, a landowner in Ogata, Niigata City, followed in the footsteps of his brother Yoshida Togo and compiled the book with the help of Watanabe Yosuke, Hanami Sakumi, and Fuse Shuji of the Historiographical Materials Section of Tokyo Imperial University. Modeled after the Dai Nihon Shiryo, the book contains a set of documents and is organized according to the historical materials. Volume 1 (from the Age of the Gods) was published in 1925. Volume 6 (up to June 1586) was published in 1996, but was discontinued due to Takahashi's death. The draft version (up to December 1581) is held at the Niigata Prefectural Northern Culture Museum. 越後，佐渡両国の編年史料集。新潟市大形の地主高橋義彦が兄の吉田東伍の志を継ぎ，東京帝国大学史料編纂掛の渡辺世祐，花見朔巳，布施秀治らの協力を得て編纂。《大日本史料》に範をとり，綱文をたて史料を配する。第1巻(神代から)は1925年刊。31年第6巻(天正12年6月まで)を刊行したが，高橋の死により中絶した。草稿本(明治4年12月まで)は新潟県北方文化博物館に蔵する。【小村弌】
