Born: July 14, 1866 in Stockholm
[Died] February 5, 1945, Stockholm. Swedish modern architect. He was initially a set designer, furniture designer, and painter. His most famous work is Stockholm City Hall (1911-23), and he achieved international fame for his idea of using all the arts to glorify Swedish history. His other works include the Royal Patent Office in Stockholm (21), the Maritime History Museum (34), and the Crematorium in Helsingborg (35).
