[Smelting method]
(1) Direct and indirect smelting When extracting metals from concentrates, indirect smelting is a method in which the form of the metal compounds in the raw materials is changed by roasting, or an intermediate product such as matte is produced, and the metal content is concentrated. In contrast, the method of obtaining metals from concentrates in a single process is called direct smelting.
