A nomadic tribe in southwestern Iran. Their language is the Iranian Lor dialect, which is close to Kurdish. Until the Safavid period they were a large and powerful political group, forming the Khorshidi dynasty (1155-early 17th century). However, they later split into two factions, with the group north of the river called "Little Lor" and the group south of the river called "Little Lor", but later took on the names Bakhtiari and Kūhgīlūyeh. In the second half of the 19th century, the "Little Lor" split into eastern and western parts by the Kabir Mountains and the Kalha River, and today the Lor refers to the nomads of the eastern part of the region commonly known as "Pishkūh".
