A genre of Spanish poetry. It is a folkloric narrative poem that arose between the end of the 14th century and the 15th century, and its form of eight syllables per line, with only the even lines rhyming, is still practiced today. It originally originated from fragments of medieval epic poems, which were passed down by troubadours, but later expanded with the addition of lyric poetry created by established poets. → Related article Gongora Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
