A genre of Spanish poetry. It is a folkloric narrative poem that arose between the end of the 14th century and the 15th century, and its form of eight syllables per line, with only the even lines rhyming, is still practiced today. It originally originated from fragments of medieval epic poems, which were passed down by troubadours, but later expanded with the addition of lyric poetry created by established poets.

スペイン詩の一ジャンル。14世紀末から15世紀にかけて発生した，民間伝承の物語詩のことで，各行８音節，偶数行のみが脚韻をふむその形式は現在も継承されている。もともとは中世の武勲詩（叙事詩）が断片化し，吟遊詩人によって歌い継がれてきたものだが，その後，名声の確立した詩人たちによる創作の抒情詩も加わって，大きな広がりを見せるようになった。
