Doberman pinscher (species)

Doberman pinscher (species)
A police dog (illustration) originating from Germany. One of the newest dog breeds bred and established in the late 19th century to the early 20th century. The name comes from the breeder, Karl Louis Dobermann, and it is said that at a time when breeds such as shepherds, boxers, and schnauzers were already developing spectacularly, he bred the dog with the ideal of a thoroughbred-like working dog that combined strength and grace. He kept his breeding records secret, so the progress of his research is unknown, but there is no doubt that the foundation dog was the Rottweiler, which was already used as a herding dog, and later the blood of the Manchester terrier and greyhound was also incorporated.
