Exposure - Roshutsu (English spelling)

Japanese: 露出 - ろしゅつ（英語表記）exposure

The operation of shining light for a certain period of time on the photosensitive surface of the image sensor of a digital camera, photographic film, photographic paper, etc. When the photosensitive layer is irradiated with light, it is called exposure, but there is no strict distinction between the two and they are often used interchangeably. Exposure is achieved by using the camera shutter, lens cap, or by turning on and off the lighting. The state of exposure can be called overexposure, correct exposure, or underexposure.
