hand

Japanese: hand
hand

...The word is also sometimes applied to animals such as squirrels and mice that eat food with both hands. In English, the hand of a human is called a hand, but the hands of all quadrupeds are anatomically equivalent and homologous, so in anatomical and zoological terms they are generally called manus (similarly, the foot is usually called foot, but academically it is collectively called pes). The general shape of the hand of primates, including humans, dates back to primitive amphibians, including the five fingers, and has well retained the prototype of quadrupeds.

From [Banana]

...The large fruits grow on an upright stem, making them easily distinguishable from Southeast Asian bananas.
[Cultivation, production, utilization]
A whole bunch or bunch of bananas for sale is called a bunch, a palm or tier cut into sections is called a hand, and an individual fruit (finger) is called a finger. In commercially cultivated varieties, the whole bunch has a dozen or so tiers, and each tier has about 15 fingers. If each finger weighs about 200g, then one bunch weighs 20 to 30kg.
