A Roman martyr and saint. Details of her martyrdom are unknown, but records are consistent that she was martyred as a child, and Ambrose states that she was 12 years old. A church for Agnes was built in Rome in the 4th century. She was the patron saint of young girls. Her feast day is January 21st.
