Japanese: 阿久根[市] - あくね

A city in the northwest of Kagoshima Prefecture, facing the Amakusa Nada Sea. It was incorporated as a city in 1952. Akune, the center of the city, is connected by the Hisatsu Orange Railway and National Route 3, and has been an important maritime transportation area since ancient times. It has also developed as a fishing port, with large catches of horse mackerel, sardines, and mackerel, and seafood processing is also thriving. Although there is little arable land within the city, it produces snow peas, broad beans, kiwi fruit, and mandarin oranges such as bontan. Livestock farming is also thriving and processed. The Kuronose Bridge connects the city to Nagashima in the Amakusa Islands. Akune Onsen (salt spring, 48°C) is located here, and the surrounding area is a scenic coastal area, and it is close to Unzen-Amakusa National Park. The area is 134.29 ^km2 . 鹿児島県北西部，天草灘に面する市。1952年市制。肥薩おれんじ鉄道，国道３号線が通じる中心の阿久根は古来海上交通の要地で，漁港としても発展，アジ，イワシ，サバの水揚げが多く，水産物加工も盛ん。市域は耕地が少ないが，キヌサヤエンドウ，ソラマメ，キウイフルーツなどを産し，ボンタンなどミカン類も特産。畜産も盛んで加工も行われる。天草諸島・長島との間に黒之瀬大橋がかかる。阿久根温泉（食塩泉，48℃）がわき，周囲は海岸景勝地で雲仙天草国立公園にも近い。134.29km²。２万3154人（2010）。
