A small island in the South China Sea, about 130 km southwest of Manila, Philippines, and 20 km northwest of Mindoro Island. Its area is 191 km2. It is long and narrow, stretching about 30 km from northwest to southeast. Except for the flat area in the northwest, the island is mountainous, with steep sea cliffs along the southern coast. The amount of precipitation is not particularly high, but rain is concentrated from May to October due to the influence of the southwest monsoon. Administratively, it belongs to the province of Occidental Mindoro. The inhabitants are Tagalog, and the population is concentrated in the northern areas of Tiliq Port and Lubang Town.
