A common name for tuberculous cervical lymphadenitis. Infection occurs lymphatically from the initial infection site in the pharynx or tonsils, or hematogenously from the initial infection site in the lungs. The cervical lymph nodes swell in large numbers and are connected in a rosary-like pattern. The disease progresses chronically, but in the early active stage, symptoms such as fever and tenderness of the lymph nodes are prominent. Treatment includes systemic administration of anti-tuberculous drugs (sometimes injected into the lymph nodes), X-ray therapy of the lesions, and removal of the lesions.

結核性頸部リンパ節（腺）炎の俗称。咽頭や扁桃などの初感染巣からリンパ行性に，あるいは肺初感染巣から血行性に感染する。頸部リンパ腺は多数腫脹(しゅちょう)し，数珠(じゅず)状に連なる。慢性に経過するが，初期の活動性の時期には，発熱やリンパ節の圧痛などが著しい。治療は抗結核薬の全身投与（ときにリンパ節内への注入），病巣のＸ線治療や摘出など。
