A military official of the Yi Dynasty in Korea. His pen name was Yongbok, his title was Gosong, and his posthumous name was Chungmin. He was awarded the first class honor for his contributions to the suppression of the Yi Seok Rebellion (1624). In 1636, he fought against the Qing invasion (the Byeongja Rebellion) as the governor of Uiju, and in 1638 he became a military envoy for the Heian Period. When he was ordered to subjugate the Ming army, he became a monk and fled, remaining committed to the anti-Qing cause. He then became a deputy garrison officer of the Ming Dynasty, but was captured by the Qing and sent back to Korea, where he was killed. In Korea, he was considered a national hero of the anti-Qing movement, and a military novel in Hangeul, "The Story of Im Gyeongyeop," was written in the late Yi Dynasty.

朝鮮，李朝の武臣。字は英伯，号は孤松，諡（おくりな）は忠愍。李适（りかつ）の反乱(1624)の鎮圧に功績をあげ振武原従勲一等となる。1636年，清の侵攻(丙子の乱)に際し義州府尹として抗戦，38年平安兵使となる。明軍征討を命ぜられると，僧になって逃亡し，反清を貫いた。そして明の副摠官となるが，清に捕らえられ朝鮮に送還された後，殺害された。朝鮮では反清の民族的英雄とされ，李朝末期にハングルによる軍談小説《林慶業伝》が書かれている。
