[Origin] Originally, it was a place name referring to a swamp in what is now Shandong Province. Since ancient times, it has been a base for bandits and rebels, especially in the area of Suikoden In the novel, the heroes of the story are said to have barricaded themselves here, and the place has come to be used as a synonym for a place where heroes and ambitious people gather.

[由来] もともとは、現在の山東省内にあった沼地を指す地名。昔から、盗賊や反乱軍の根拠地となってきましたが、特に、「水滸伝」の中で、主人公の豪傑たちがここに立てこもったとされたところから、豪傑や野心家などが集まる場所の代名詞として使われるようになりました。
