One of the heroes of the late Eastern Han Dynasty in China. His courtesy name was Jingsheng. He was from Gaoping (southwest of Zou County, Shandong Province). He was a descendant of Liu Yu, King of Lugong, son of Emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty. He was called the Eight Gu at a young age and was counted among the virtuous. In 190 (Chuping 1), he became the governor of Jingzhou and suppressed the Zong rebels (anti-establishment forces in Jiangnan) to rule Jiangnan, and his influence extended to Lingling and Guiyang in the south. He watched the Battle of Guandu without taking sides with either Yuan Shao or Cao Cao, but in 201 (Jian'an 6), Liu Bei came to his aid, and his relationship with Cao Cao deteriorated. In 208, Liu Biao died of illness just before the invasion of Cao Cao's army, and his son Cong (Cong) surrendered to Cao Cao with Jingzhou.

中国，後漢末の群雄の一人。字は景升。高平(山東省鄒県南西)の人。漢の景帝の子，魯恭王劉余の子孫。若くして八顧とよばれ，有徳者の一人に数えられた。190年(初平1)に荆州刺史となると宗賊(江南の反体制勢力)を平定して江南を支配し，その勢力は南の零陵，桂陽まで及んだ。官渡の戦では袁紹，曹操のいずれにも荷担せずに観望していたが，201年(建安6)に劉備が頼ってきたことから曹操との関係は悪化，208年曹操軍の来襲を目前にして劉表は病死し，子の琮（そう）は荆州をあげて曹操に下った。
