A man from the Northern Zhou Dynasty during the Northern and Southern Dynasties period in China. He was originally a monk, but later returned to secular life. In 567, together with the Taoist priest Zhang Bin, he persuaded Emperor Wu that Buddhism was harmful to the state, which led to the abolition of Buddhism. In 579, he also presented six articles of the "Conference to Anti-Buddhism," but this time it was not accepted.
