The Book of Li Ping (English: Lǐ Píng shū)

Japanese: 李平書 - りへいしょ（英語表記）Lǐ Píng shū

1854‐1927
A Chinese business leader from Baoshan County, Jiangsu Province. His original name was Zhongju, and his later pen name was Zheng Gan. He was known by his pen name. He initially entered the government, but resigned as governor when France occupied Guangzhou Bay in 1899 (the 25th year of the Guangxu era), and in 1903 became a manager in the Jiangnan Manufacturing Bureau. He subsequently held important posts in the Bank of Commerce, the Merchants Bureau, and the Jiangsu Railway Bureau, and also organized a merchant association and became chairman of the National Federation of Merchants Associations. As clearly shown by his appointment as civil administrator of the Shanghai Navy Government during the Xinhai Revolution, he was a typical distinguished merchant and business leader from the government in the late Qing and early Republican periods.

中国の財界人。江蘇省宝山県の人。原名は鍾珏（しようかく），晩号は且頑。字で知られる。はじめ官界に投じたが，1899年(光緒25)のフランスによる広州湾占領に際して知県をやめ，1903年に江南製造局の管理職についた。以後，通商銀行，招商局，江蘇鉄路局などの要職につくとともに，商団を組織，全国商団連合会会長にもなった。辛亥革命で上海軍政府の民政長となったことに端的にしめされるように，清末･民国初年における官界出身の典型的な名望ある商紳＝財界人であった。
