・Operating income
・Operating profit = Gross profit - Selling, general and administrative expenses ・Operating profit refers to the profit calculated on the income statement by subtracting selling, general and administrative expenses from gross profit.
・Profit from a company's core business activities, and does not include profits recorded through interest received or gains on the sale of fixed assets. In other words, it shows the profit-earning power of a company through its core business.
-In addition, operating profit is sometimes used as a performance indicator when calculating bonus funds for human resources purposes.
・The advantage of using it is that it makes it possible to strengthen employees' awareness of the results of their main business. On the other hand, the disadvantage is that it does not include costs such as non-operating profit and loss, so bonus funds may put pressure on the financial base. Also, it does not include the results of cash management.

・営業利益 = 売上総利益 - 販売費および一般管理費
・営業利益は、損益計算書上において、売上総利益から販売費および一般管理費を差し引いて計算される利益のことを指す。
・企業本来の営業活動における利益であり、受取利息や固定資産売却益などによって計上される利益は含まれない。つまり、企業の本業による利益獲得力を示している。
・また、営業利益は人事関連において賞与原資を算出する際の業績指標として活用されることがある。
・活用するメリットは、社員の本業における成果に対する意識付けを強化することが可能になること。一方、デメリットは、営業外損益等のコストが含まれておらず、賞与原資が財務基盤を圧迫する可能性があること。また、キャッシュマネジメントの成果が含まれていないことが挙げられる。
