The Story of Rikuunsen

Japanese: 陸雲僊伝 - りくうんせんでん

A long narrative poem written in Chu Nom by Nguyen Dinh Chieu (1822-88), a blind patriotic poet of the mid-Nguyen Dynasty of Vietnam, based on his experiences from the first half of his life. It was published in Cholon in 1865. It tells the story of Luc Van Tien, a candidate for the civil service examination who was unable to take the exam after his mother's death and who became blind because he cried day and night for his dead mother, but who endured persecution and became a state master, and of Kieu Nguyet Nga, who was once saved by Tien and remained faithful to him, and who married him. The poem is written in 2,080 lines in traditional 68-style poetry.

ベトナムのグエン(阮)朝中期の盲目の愛国詩人グエン･ディン･チエウNguyen Dinh Chieu(阮廷炤。1822‐88)が自己の前半生の体験をもとにしてチュノム(字喃)で書いた長編叙事詩。1865年チョロンで出版された。母の死によって科挙の受験を果たさず亡母を慕って日夜泣いたため盲目となった試生のルク･バン･ティエン(陸雲僊)が，世の迫害に耐えて状元となり，かつてティエンに救われたキエウ･グエット･ガ(喬月娥)が貞節を守ってティエンと結ばれる話を伝統詩法の六八体による2080行で歌ったもの。
