[Died] August 3, 1977, Chicago American actor and director. Appeared in many productions with his wife, L. Fontan, including Pygmalion (1927), N. Coward's Plan for Living (33), The Taming of the Shrew (35), and J. Giraudoux's Amphitryon (38). He also directed Cosi fan tutte (51) and La Traviata (66) at the Metropolitan Opera.
