Anji - Anji

Japanese: アンジ - あんじ
Anji - Anji

...The conclusion of Quatrephages and others was a breakthrough at the time when Cuvier's theory that humans did not exist in the Pleistocene was still widely believed, but similar human bones have since been discovered in Europe, Western Asia, and North Africa at sites of the Aurignacian and Magdalenian cultures or at sites of the Late Paleolithic period that parallel them, and it has been made clear that all of them belong to modern humans. The main sites where fossils of modern humans have been excavated in Europe are distributed over a wide area except Northern Europe, such as Angis in Belgium, La Madeleine, Cro-Magnon, Laugerie-Basse, Le Placard, Combes-Cappel, and Solutre in France, Garry Hill in England (22,500 years ago), Grimaldi in Italy, Oberkassel in Germany, Przedmosti (26,000 years ago) and Brno in the Czech Republic, and Kostenki (14,300 years ago) and Sungir (22,000 years ago) in Russia. These fossil modern humans from Europe span a time span of nearly 20,000 years, so their characteristics are not necessarily uniform but highly variable, and they were once divided into three types: Cro-Magnon type, Chancelade type (Chancelade man), and Grimaldi type (Grimaldi man).
