Japanese: 運城 - うんじょう

A city (county-level city) in the southwest of Shanxi Province, China, and the center of the Yuncheng District. Population: 520,000 (1994). It lies on the north side of the Zhongtian Mountains, along the Tongpu Railway (Datong-Mengshuang). Anyi and Jieyu counties were merged to form Yuncheng County in 1958, and the city was established in 1983. Anyi was re-established as Nananyi County during the Sui Dynasty, and the county seat was in Anyicheng, northeast of Yuncheng, and it was also the seat of Yuzhou and Anyi County. From 1915 to 1918, the county seat was moved to Yuncheng, and then it reverted to the old seating arrangement, but Yuncheng has been the county seat since 1955, and the Yuchi District Office is located there.

中国，山西省南西部の市(県級市)で運城地区の中心地。人口52万(1994)。中条山脈北側にあり，同蒲鉄道(大同～孟塬)に沿う。1958年安邑，解虞両県を合併して運城県が設置され，83年市制施行。安邑は隋代に南安邑県を改めて設け，県治は運城北東の安邑城にあり，虞州，安邑郡の治所となったこともある。1915‐18年県治を運城に移したこともあり，その後再び旧治にもどったが，55年からは運城が県治であり，運域地区公署の所在地となった。
