Born on July 6, 1216. The third princess of Emperor Sanjo. Her mother was Fujiwara no Kenshi. In 1218, she married Crown Prince Atsunaga (Emperor Gosuzaku) and became empress in 1219. She gave birth to Prince Takahito (Emperor Gosanjo), and two Imperial Princesses, Yoshiko and Kenshi. In 1219, she was given the title of In. She died on January 16, 1220. She was 82 years old.
