Unrin-in Temple

(A variation of "Unrin'in") [1] A temple located in Murasakino, Kita Ward, Kyoto City. Originally a villa of Emperor Junna and called Murasakino-in, it was later renamed Unrin'in, and in 884 ( the 8th year of the Genkei era), at the request of Sojo Hensho, became a branch temple of the Tendai sect's Gangyo-ji temple.
