Yuzaki

Japanese: 結崎 - ゆうさき

The name of a place in Shikinoshimo County, Yamato Province. Currently Oaza Yuzaki, Kawanishi Town, Ise County, Nara Prefecture. It is a lowland in the center of the Nara Basin, located on the right bank of the Terakawa River. It can also be written as Uozaki or Yuzaki. The place name has appeared on land sales certificates and other documents since the Kamakura period, but its ownership as a manor is unclear. It is possible that it was the property of Kofuku-ji Temple or Kasuga Shrine, and it is said that there was a sub-shrine of Kasuga Shrine in the area. In the early Edo period, the village of Yuzaki had a land area of over 2,255 koku (Genwa Village Register). Yuzaki is well known as a historical place name because the Kanze troupe of Noh theater established its base here in its early days.

大和国城(式)下（しきのしも）郡の地名。現奈良県磯城郡川西町大字結崎。奈良盆地中央部の低地で，寺川右岸に位置する。魚崎，夕崎とも書く。鎌倉時代から地名として土地売券等に所見するが，荘園としての領有関係は未詳。興福寺か春日社領であった可能性があり，地域内に春日社末社があったという。江戸時代初期の結崎村は2255石余(元和郷帳)。結崎が歴史地名として著名なのは，能楽の観世座がその草創期にここに本拠をすえたことによる。
