Yugirisou - Yugirisou

A semi-cold-hardy perennial plant of the Campanulaceae family (APG classification: Campanulaceae). Native to southern Europe and northern Africa. It is cultivated as an annual or biennial plant in greenhouses. The stem is 0.3-1 meter tall. The leaves are 10 cm long, ovate, acute, and doubly serrated. Small, gamopetalous flowers measuring about 2 mm are produced in dense corymbs from June to September. Flower colors include violet, white, red, and dirty yellow, and are used as cut flowers, in pots, and in flower beds. A long-day plant that can be forcibly grown under electric lighting.

キキョウ科(APG分類:キキョウ科)の半耐寒性多年草。南ヨーロッパから北アフリカ原産。ハウス内では一、二年草として栽培される。茎は高さ0.3~1メートル。葉は長さ10センチメートルの卵形で鋭頭、重鋸歯(じゅうきょし)縁。6~9月に2ミリメートル前後の小形の合弁花を密な散房花序につける。花色は菫青(きんせい)、白、赤、汚黄色などで、切り花、鉢植え、花壇用。長日植物で電照促成栽培が可能。
