Emel'yan Mikhailovich Yaroslavskii

1878‐1943
Soviet revolutionary and politician. He had been active as a Marxist revolutionary since 1898, and participated in the 1905 revolution as a veteran Bolshevik. In 1917, he participated in the October Revolution in Moscow and became an organizer. At one time he was a left-wing communist, but during the NEP period, he served as a central control committee member for the mainstream, criticizing opponents such as Trotsky and Zinoviev, as well as right-wingers such as Bukharin. He also edited the magazines Pravda and Bolshevik, and was involved in the editing of the history of the Communist Party in the 1930s.

ソ連邦の革命家，政治家。1898年よりマルクス主義革命家として活動し，古参ボリシェビキとして1905年の革命に参加。17年にはモスクワで十月革命に加わり組織者となる。一時，左派共産主義者であったが，ネップ期には主流派の中央統制委員として，トロツキーやジノビエフらの反対派，さらにブハーリンら右派の批判にまわる。また《プラウダ》や《ボリシェビク》誌の編集に加わり，さらには30年代共産党史の編集事業にも携わった。
