Urizura [town] - Urizura
An old town in Naka District, central Ibaraki Prefecture. The ruins of medieval Urizura Castle can be found in Urizura, the center of the city. The Suigun Line runs through the town. Rice and field crops are cultivated here. There is Shizu Shrine, which enshrines the god of textile crafts, and Jofukuji Temple. In January 2005, the town merged with Naka Town in Naka District to become a city, Naka City. Area: 14.66 km2 . Population: 9,240 (2003).
