[Died] October 29, 1944.
Noh researcher and architect. His real name was Seitaro. He graduated from the Department of Architecture at the University of Tokyo. He studied the Kita school of chanting, learned o-tsuzumi from Kawasaki Kuen, and studied the drum body, writing "Drum Body Appraisal" (1917, co-authored with Ikuta Koichi). He also wrote reviews of Noh for the Kokumin Shimbun and Asahi Shimbun. He also studied Noh stages, and designed the Umewaka Noh Stage, the Hosokawa Stage, and the Somei Stage.

能楽研究家，建築家。本名静太郎。東京大学建築学科卒業。喜多流の謡を学び，川崎九淵に大鼓を教わり，鼓の胴を研究して『鼓胴之鑑定』 (1917，生田耕一と共著) を，地拍子の理論を大成して『地拍子精義』を著わす。『国民新聞』『朝日新聞』に能評をも執筆し，また能舞台を研究，梅若能舞台，細川舞台，染井舞台を設計した。
