Novelist. Born in Tokyo. Real name Yoshimi. Graduated from Keio University, French Literature Department. Edited Mita Literature. Brought Jun Eto and Ayako Sono to the world. He himself introduced the world to Daily Death (1957), and in works such as That Year (1958), he depicted the suffering of a generation in their youth at the time of the defeat in a delicate and transparent style. Following Kaigan Koen (1961), he published collections of short stories, Close Friends (1963) and A Long and Short Year (1964). One of his stories was introduced overseas and he was expected to have a bright future, but he died in a traffic accident. Posthumously, works such as Like Love (1965) were published.
