Also called moraine or glacial moraine. A hillock formed by the transport and deposition of rock debris produced by glaciers eroding the ground. It can also refer to the deposits that create such a topography. It is made up of soil, sand, gravel, and boulders. There are mainly end moraine, which is deposited in a flat or crescent shape at the end of a glacier, central moraine, which is deposited in the center of a glacier where two glaciers meet, and side moraine, which is deposited in long, narrow strips on the side walls of a glacial valley.
