A former town in Kamikita District, eastern Aomori Prefecture. It occupies the north bank of the lower reaches of the Oirase River, north of Hachinohe City. It produces rice, cabbage, radishes, strawberries, etc. There are also food processing factories. In March 2006, it merged with Shimoda Town, Kamikita District, to become Oirase Town, Kamikita District. 21.44 km2 . Population: 10,594 (2003). 青森県東部,上北郡の旧町。八戸(はちのへ)市の北,奥入瀬(おいらせ)川下流部の北岸を占める。米,キャベツ,ダイコン,イチゴなどを産する。食品加工の工場もある。2006年3月,上北郡下田町と合併し町制,上北郡おいらせ町となる。21.44km2。1万594人(2003)。
