A former town in Kamikita District, eastern Aomori Prefecture. It occupies the north bank of the lower reaches of the Oirase River, north of Hachinohe City. It produces rice, cabbage, radishes, strawberries, etc. There are also food processing factories. In March 2006, it merged with Shimoda Town, Kamikita District, to become Oirase Town, Kamikita District. 21.44 km2 . Population: 10,594 (2003).
