Japanese: モモアカアブラムシ - ももあかあぶらむし

It is an insect of the Aphididae family in the Hemiptera order, with a body length of 1.5 to 2.5 mm. Its Japanese name means "peach red aphid," but in addition to reddish brown body color, green and pale yellow individuals can also be seen. Its parasitic range is extremely wide, parasitizing various vegetables, flowers, and fruit trees, stunting their growth and reducing their quality. It is also known to transmit over 100 types of plant viral diseases, making it an important pest of agricultural and horticultural crops. It has a tendency to change hosts seasonally, and the spring generation that hatches from overwintering eggs parasitizes a few Rosaceae plants, such as peaches, and causes the leaves to curl vertically and shrink.
