This hot spring is located in Omachi city in northwest Nagano prefecture. It is located along the Takase River valley about 10km west of the city and is accessible by bus from Shinano Omachi Station on the Oito Line. The hot spring gushes out from a crack in the rocks in the valley and is a simple hydrogen sulfide spring with a temperature of 62-93°C. It is said to have been discovered during the Kan'ei era (1624-1644). It is located on the eastern foot of Mt. Eboshi (2627m) and is also the trailhead for the Uraginza Course in the Northern Alps. 長野県北西部,大町市にある温泉。市街から西に10kmほどの高瀬川の渓谷に沿い,大糸線信濃大町駅からバスの便がある。温泉は渓谷の岩の割れ目から湧き出ており,泉質は単純硫化水素泉で,泉温62~93℃。発見されたのは寛永年間(1624‐44)と伝えられている。烏帽子岳(2627m)の東麓にあり,北アルプス〈裏銀座コース〉への登山口ともなっている。【谷沢 明】
