A general term for echinoderms belonging to the order Isocrinida of the class Crinoids. All of them live in the sea, and flourished since their appearance in the Ordovician period of the Paleozoic era, but declined in the Mesozoic era, and only a few species survive today. Therefore, they are also called "living fossils." Their name comes from their resemblance to the lily plant. They live on the seabed at depths of 100 to 500 meters in Sagami Bay and Suruga Bay. Their body consists of three parts: the crown, stem, and root. Five arms emerge from a conical calyx in the center of the crown, which branches several times at the base to form 40 to 70 radial arms.
