An Arab-Iranian dynasty (1319-93) that ruled southern Iran. It began when Mubariz al-Din Muḥammad b. Muẓaffar (r. 19-57) was given Yazd by Ilkhan Abu Sa'id (r. 19-57). He later gained Kerman, Shiraz, and Isfahan. The dynasty reached its zenith under Shah Shuja (r. 57-84), whose rule once extended to Azerbaijan and Iraq. After his death, the dynasty split up, coming under the suzerainty of Timur in 1387, and was briefly reunited by Shah Mansur (r. 87-93), only to be destroyed by Timur's attack in 1393.
