Printing telegraph machine

Japanese:
Printing telegraph machine
Also known as a teletype or teleprinter. A device that automatically sends and receives telegraphic codes and punches or prints the received messages on tape. The communication content is typed onto the tape using a typewriter-like keyboard and converted into printed telegraphic code. It was invented by American DE Hughes in 1855, and the start-stop printing telegraph made by Western Electric appeared in 1910. It was used in Japan from 1927, and a domestically produced model was made in 1936. Morse code was sometimes used for undersea telegraphy, etc. Telex, which uses this device, is moving towards obsolescence as international text transmission shifts to fax and email.
