During the Heian period, the Kama clan, the chief priest of Kama Shrine, donated the land he developed to the Ise Naiku Shrine, and the Kama clan inherited the position of Sokengyo. During the Kamakura period, the Hojo clan was appointed as land stewards, and the Kama clan served as land stewards.
