A medieval warrior of Omi. His base was Minoura, Sakata County, Omi Province (present-day Omi Town, Sakata County, Shiga Prefecture). He was a descendant of Minoura Yoshimitsu of the Seiwa Genji clan, and Yamamoto Yoshitsune's son Yoshiaki was called Minoura Kanja. Yoshimitsu had deep ties to Omi, including the Onjo-ji temple, and many of his descendants, except for those who settled in Hitachi and became the Satake clan, flourished in Omi, especially in the Koto region, and became the Yamamoto (Kohoku Town, Higashi-Azai County), Kashiwagi (Mizuguchi Town, Koga County), Minoura, and Nishikori (Otsu City) clans. In the late Heian period, he seems to have followed Minoura Tameyoshi, and there was a rumor that Tameyoshi, who was defeated in the Hogen Rebellion (1156), traveled by boat from Otsu to Minoura, and according to one chapter of the Hogen Monogatari, Minoura was Tameyoshi's territory.
