An event on the Shugendo trail where mountain ascetics climb Mt. Omine in Nara Prefecture in the footsteps of En-gyoja. It is also called "entering Omine" or "entering the peak." After a period of abstinence and purification, the Honzan sect enters Omine from Kumano and passes through Yoshino, while the Tozan sect enters Omine from Yoshino. The former enters the peak in the correct order, while the latter enters the peak in the wrong order. Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
