Polish poet. A representative figure of Polish Romanticism. After being exiled to Russia, he fled to France. During the Crimean War, he tried to organize a volunteer army to fight against Russia, but he died of cholera in Constantinople. His representative works include the collection of poems "Ballads and Romances," the verse drama "Feast of the Fathers," and the epic poem "Pan Tadeusz." ポーランドの詩人。ポーランド・ロマン主義を代表する文人。ロシアに流刑になった後，フランスに亡命。クリミア戦争の際義勇軍を作りロシアと戦おうとしたが，コンスタンティノープルでコレラに倒れた。代表作は，詩集《バラードとロマンス》，詩劇《父祖の祭り》，叙事詩《パン・タデウシュ》など。
