A town in Kani County in southern Gifu Prefecture. The Kani River, a tributary of the Kiso River, flows west through the center of the town. The main settlements of Mitaka and Fushimi developed as post towns on the Nakasendo road, and the Meitetsu Hiromi Line runs through the town. Rice is cultivated, and companies have set up shop in the industrial park. The town is home to Oniiwa (a scenic spot and natural monument) and Oniiwa Onsen. Area: 56.69 km2 .
