Cape - Misaki

Japanese: 岬 - みさき
Cape - Misaki
This is the former town area in the north of Isumi City, in the southeastern part of Chiba Prefecture. It was established in 1961 by the merger of Taito Town and Choja Town. In 2005, it was merged with Isumi Town and Ohara Town to form Isumi City. Located in the lower reaches of the Isumi River, in addition to rice cultivation, vegetable cultivation, dairy farming, and livestock farming are also thriving. Choja, the central district, is the commercial center. The eastern coast belongs to Minami Boso Quasi-National Park, and the sandy beach at the southern end of Cape Taito has a coastal plant community that is designated as a national natural monument.

Misaki Cape
cape

The tip of land that juts out into the sea. It is smaller than a peninsula. In most cases, it is a mountainous area that remains after the hard rock has been eroded away, but there are also cases where a sand spit juts out into the sea. Wadanohana near Komatsushima in Shikoku is an example of a cape formed by a sand spit.
